1. Make It Different
Experiences, world traveling and a cosmopolite mind set lead us to the idea sharing our love for fashion consistently. Our brand YAKRIS was born. The importance of working closely together with our manufacturers in India, Bali, Uzbekistan and Nepal is essential to follow our ethical approach. We are committed by a conscious and high-quality selection of fabrics, a unique design paired with supporting our production sites that are mainly run by females.
2. Make It Slow
We practise slow fashion. We don’t have production deadlines. We don’t do collections or ranges. The makers are not overworked and pushed to complete a huge quantity of labour all at once. The teams work in a harmonious and empowering environment.
3. Make It Unique
There is a maximum of 15 pieces per design and pattern. A lot of pieces are unique. The fabrics we work with are all naturally made and range from vintage silk to organic cotton or bamboo.
4. Make It Direct
We don’t do wholesale. This means less waste and more control of our eco footprint. We love to be able to stay in contact with all our customers. There is a direct link between you and us.
5. Make It Sustainable
Our design is not subject to any fashion trend. The pieces are sustainably made, always special and can be worn in a lot of combinations.
6. Make It Ikat
One of our favourite fabrics we work with is Ikat. Why Ikat? Ikat is a traditional fabric made in different parts of the world, mainly in Indonesia, Japan, Uzbekistan, India and the Balearic Islands. It is the Indonesian word for ‚to tie‘, ‚to bind‘ or ‚hold together‘. Yasmin’s Balinese roots lead us to these special fabric, still made on traditional looms. Growing up and married in Ikat it’s part of our life experience and diversity. As empowered friends and partners, Kristina and Yasmin stick to each other and to the manufacturers as it is the universal meaning of Ikat. You will find Ikat in the whole product range from coats to dresses to bags.
7. Make It 'All-In-YAKRIS'
If you want you can find a complete outfit with us. Put your Ikat coat over your simple black jumpsuit and tie the dress with the Japanese vintage silk belt is only one combination you will find here.
